How can I close/delete my account?

To close your account, there are two options available depending on whether or not you have the BitMEX app downloaded.

If you have the app, you can request to close your account by following these steps:

  • Tap on the More tab located at the bottom of the navigation menu
  • Select Account and scroll down to the bottom of the page

Why was my account marked as spam?

If an account has too many open orders with a gross value of less than 0.0001 XBT, the account will be labeled as a spam account and all proceeding orders that are smaller than 0.0001 XBT in size will automatically become hidden orders.

Spam accounts are re-evaluated every 24 hours and may return to normal provided that trading behaviour has changed.

For more details on the spam mechanism please see our REST API docs on Minimum Order Size.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I deposit directly from my bank?

At the moment, we don’t accept deposits from banks. However, you can use our Buy Crypto feature where you can purchase assets through our partners which get directly deposited into your BitMEX wallet.

Why is my deposit taking a long time to get credited?

Deposits are credited after the transaction receives 1 network confirmation on the blockchain for XBT or 12 confirmations for ETH and ERC20 tokens.

If there is network congestion or/and if you’ve sent it with low fees, it can take longer than usual to get confirmed.

You can check whether your deposit has enough confirmation by searching up your Deposit Address or Transaction ID on a Block Explorer.

How long does it take for deposits to be credited?

Bitcoin deposits are credited after one network confirmation and ETH ERC20 token deposits are credited after 12 confirmations.

How long does it take for transactions to get confirmed?

The amount of time that it takes for confirmation(s) is dependent on the network traffic and the fee you’ve paid. If there is a large number of unconfirmed transactions, it is common for deposits to be delayed as all transfers are delayed.

How can I check on the status of my transaction?

You can check the status of your transaction by searching your Deposit Address on the relevant Block Explorer.

Is there a deposit fee?

BitMEX does not charge any fees on deposits.

Why does it say my deposit address is invalid/too long?

Your Bitcoin Deposit Address with BitMEX is a Bech32 (P2WSH) address format. The wallet you’re sending from will need to support this address format for you to be able to send funds to it.

If they support the address format and you’re still having trouble sending, try:

  • Copying pasting the address instead of manually entering it (it’s highly recommended that you don’t manually enter it in general as it’s more prone to errors)
  • Make sure that there is no trailing space at the end of the address after you paste it
  • Scan the QR code for your Deposit address instead of copying and pasting it

Why is my wallet balance different on a Block Explorer?

The balance on your Deposit Address doesn’t match the balance in your account because:

  • We don’t send transactions on the blockchain when you have Realised PNL or internal transfer
  • Your withdrawals are not sent from your Deposit Address
  • We sometimes consolidate balances to an address when we credit users with their funds

Your deposit address is used just to deposit funds into your account. It doesn’t reflect any other transaction that may take place on your account.

For the most accurate reflection of your balance, please refer to the Wallet and Transaction History page.
